Gigya’s integration with Email Marketing Service Providers (ESP) enables use of up-to-date Gigya information with your preferred ESP. This provides access to permission-based social and other profile info for accurate targeting of users by campaign managers.

ESP integration requires no implementation other than opening and configuring an account with your chosen ESP. To handle Gigya's side of the implementation, contact your Gigya Implementation Consultant, and we will do the work for you. You can precisely specify which social and site data Gigya should synchronize with the ESP. Implementation is server-to-server.

Gigya can both pass and receive subscribe and unsubscribe information from users who opt out of marketing in their social account or who press unsubscribe links in marketing communications.

ESP integration is a premium service and can only be activated if your site package includes Gigya's Identity Access and Storage or Registration-as-a-Service. Please contact your Gigya Account Manager or contact us by filling in a support form on our site.

The integration process:

  • Provide your ESP account details to your Gigya Customer Service Manager
  • Gigya sets up the integration on the back-end and does an initial sync to migrate users into your ESP
  • Log into your ESP and see the updated attributes, as shown in the case study below

After activating the ESP integration, Gigya provides the ESP with the following daily updates:

  • Delta of users that subscribed to receiving email promotion
  • Relevant updates to users’ details
  • List of users that have chosen to unsubscribe

Please note that Gigya only transfers users' data to the ESP. Managing users and adding them to campaigns is still handled on the ESP side.

Gigya's Recommended Best Practice for deleting users while using ESP/IDX Integration is to deactivate the user's account by setting their isActive account flag to false and changing any relevant subscription flags so that the user record is properly deactivated from your integration.

Failure to do this, by deleting the user record directly from Gigya's database, will not send a deletion notification to the ESP/IDX provider. If that occurs, the user will still exist in the 3rd party site and no longer be synced, as they no longer exist in Gigya's data stores.
