Q: What type of reports can I get on my posted widgets?
A: We provide several online reports to help you better understand, improve and optimize the performance of your widgets.

  • Posts – number of times a widget was posted
  • Wildfire loads – the number of times the Quick Posting interface was loaded.
  • Posts / loads – the ratio between the Quick Posting interface loads and number of posts.
  • Impressions in profile – the number of times your widgets were viewed on the pages they were posted on. Note: Facebook does not allow for measuring impressions of widgets on the user profile.
  • Stickiness – the ratio between daily profile impressions and daily posts. Higher numbers suggest widgets stays longer on page. Please note that this measure becomes relevant only after a while.
  • Posts by Social Network – The number of posts per social network for the entire chosen date rate.
  • Widget Install Conversion – the ratio between number of viral installs and Wildfire loads
  • Emails Sent – the number of daily email recipients resulting from user sending to friends.
  • Viral Generations – Install distribution by generation

Q: How do I "tell" the Quick Posting tool what code to post?
A: In order to provide the Quick Posting tool with the embeddable code:

  • First, you need to have that code in a TEXTAREA control on the page. For most partners, this TEXTAREA already exists for the user to manual copy the code from.
  • Next, you need to make sure this TEXTAREA has an ID (e.g. <TEXTAREA id="TEXTAREA_ID">)
  • Last, in the code we provide you with, set the default content parameter to the ID or the TEXTAREA. (i.e. parameter defaultContent: "TEXTAREA_ID")

Q: How do I start?
A: To start using the Gigya tools, add our auto-posting interface to the page where you provide your users with the embeddable widget code. By using our auto-post tool as the distribution mechanism, we will also be able to provide you with real time reporting. To get started,

Q: Should I hide my code TEXTAREA and use the one on the Quick Posting tool?
A: Yes – the best practice is to hide the TEXTAREA. This allows us to provide you with online reports on both manual and quick postings. Please note that you are probably using this TEXTAREA to "tell" the Quick Posting tool what code to post so do not remove it – simple hide it using the "display:none" style. To hide your textarea add the following in your textarea tag: style="display:none"

Q: Will my widget work on Facebook F8 platform when I use Gigya?
A: Yes! For those of you who do not have a dedicated Facebook application, Gigya has done all the hard work. When you provide us with the embeddable code we can post your widgets directly into the users profile using our generic "My Stuff" Facebook application. This application takes advantage of the various social viral features on Facebook, allowing users to share your widget with their Facebook friends, etc.
If you already have a Facebook application you can customize our auto-posting tool to send the user to the page where he/she can add your application to their Facebook profile
